HarmonyTech Receives 8(a) Certification

September 12, 2016 – HarmonyTech is proud to announce that it has received 8(a) certification from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act provides a business development program that enables the SBA to assist small, disadvantage firms in developing and growing their businesses.

Entrance into the SBA’s 8(a) business development program was granted after HarmonyTech completed a rigorous application process to ensure that it met the high standards and achievements for entering the program. HarmonyTech was thoroughly evaluated on its ownership, financial health, past performance, and operations before being admitted. Throughout the duration of our 8(a) socioeconomic status, the firm is required to provide the SBA with a detailed business plan that reflects continuous success and the healthy growth of a competitive business entity.

The 8(a) program allows HarmonyTech to pursue sole source federal projects (up to $4 million each) and set aside federal contracts available only to those with SBA certifications. In the FY2017 year, 3,423 8(a) firms were awarded more than $27.6 billion in federal contracts. For more information on the SBA 8(a) program, visit: 8(a) Business Development program (sba.gov).
